Things to Know

• Monday: Homework will be set, usually consisting of weekly spellings, reading and times tables. This may vary. Later in the year, homework may be completed online using SATs Companion; individual passwords will be provided in due course.

• Friday: Spelling and times tables tests will take place. Your child is expected to bring in their signed book bag at least once a week. This will be checked weekly to ensure regular reading at home.

• Collection: Children will be dismissed daily at 3:15pm from the rear gate leading onto the playing fields.

P.E.
Our timetabled P.E. lesson is on Tuesday and will be outdoors during the first half term (subject to change due to ongoing building work).

Children should attend school in their P.E. kits on this day. School uniform (shirts, skirts, ties or trousers) is not required. P.E. kit consists of black leggings or green shorts, along with a school jumper or cardigan.

Reading
Reading is at the heart of Year 5 learning. Please try to read with your child as often as possible, as this is central to preparing them for Year 6 and beyond.

Attendance
Regular and punctual attendance is vital to ensure your child achieves their full potential.

Children should arrive between 8:40am and 8:55am, ready for lessons to begin promptly.
