If an application for admission has been turned down by the Governing Body, parents can appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel, through the information supplied in a separate letter given by the school, outlining their options.
Parents are allowed at least twenty school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to submit that appeal. Parents must give reasons for appealing in writing and the decision of the Appeals Panel is binding on the Governors.

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
All appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.
All appellants will be sent a copy of the school’s case a reasonable time before the date of the hearing.
If any appellant wishes to submit additional evidence which was not included with their initial appeal, they must make sure that it is received within a reasonable time prior to the hearing date (normally three working days). The appeal panel must decide whether it should be considered taking into account its significance and the effect of a possible need to adjourn the hearing.
