Governors

Overview

The governors play an important role in supporting and guiding our Catholic school. Working in partnership with the Headteacher and staff, they help to set our vision and ensure it remains rooted in Gospel values. Governors provide strategic oversight, support and challenge, ensuring that high standards of education, strong leadership and the spiritual wellbeing of every child are at the heart of school life. Above all, they are committed to serving the school community and helping every child grow, learn and flourish within a caring and faith-filled environment.

Organisation

The Full Governing Body meets six times each year, with no separate committees, ensuring that all governors receive a full and comprehensive report across every area of school life. This approach allows governors to work together, share responsibility and maintain a clear, joined-up understanding of the school’s strengths and priorities.

The Chair of Governors is John Holmes, supported by the Deputy Chair, Sarah Witan, and together they work closely with school leaders to promote high standards, strong leadership and continual improvement.

Remit and Responsibilities

The governing body’s remit includes setting the strategic direction of the school, holding leaders to account for educational outcomes and the Catholic life of the school, and overseeing financial performance to ensure resources are used wisely for the benefit of all pupils.
